Saint Luke School participated for the second time in the national initiative for charitable giving known as GIVING TUESDAY, under the #iGiveCatholic. We raised over $7800 towards our $5000 Goal to purchase resources for our STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Math). The resources includes several types of programmable robots and project oriented building sets.
I appreciated hearing from all the alumni who responded to the Alumni Initiative letter and survey mailed in April 2018. We had many alumni express interest in getting involved or supporting activities: 40 for alumni activities, 30 for science fair and STEM activities, 32 for Careeer Day, 20 for Tuition Assistance, and 15 for Technical Programs.
We kicked off a brand new Pre-School program this year with 22 students in a flexible format that provides 3-day or 5 day options for half-day or full-day. The program has been well received.
We need your help in spreading the great benefits that our school can offer, such as students testing 2 years higher than the national norms on the IOWA Test of Basic Skills and CogAt tests; fine arts, which includes Spanish, art, music and gym for Pre-school through 8th grade; small classes, and hot lunches, all in a strong faith based environment.
You are always welcome to visit and I ask you to keep the school and its continuing mission in your thoughts and prayers.
